Topic/scenario for applied final(5%):
Instructions and rubric: Chooose and write down your topic and ideas about , in about 3-5 sentences-for instance, the topic/title, why you think it is important, and where you think you will look for resources.
For the final, you are either doing an extended interview with a person with a disability, with your own comments, recommendations included, or writing about any 2 important current events/issues relating to disability.
You can choose your own topic/disability, but if you were looking for ideas here are some broad areas-
Regarding disability types you can look into either a physical, mental or combined disability. Some ideas from previous students related to topics such as autism, ADHD, learning disability, mood disorders, depression, PTSD, anxiety, disorders relating to physical components involving vision, hearing, mobility etc. Within the topic, sub issues will typically relate to symptoms, challenges faced, how to rehabilitate/provide support in the home, community, school, work(depending on what topic and age group you are choosing.
