According to Puchalski (2003) spirituality is the aspect of humanity that refers to the way individuals seek and express meaning and purpose and the way they experience their connectedness to the moment, to self, others, to nature, and to the significant or sacred. A lot of people define spirituality in different ways with a majority arguing that it involves a search for the meaning of life, and thereâ€
s a more significant connection than any of use (Moreland & Craig, 2003) Spirituality according to my worldview include anything that someone would consider spiritual or that offers spiritual supremacy. This could include anything from meditation to more traditional aspects of religion. It is often more personal than traditional aspects of religion and is defined largely by an individual because, individual basic belief about spirituality contributes at large on the overall worldview of spirituality. As a Christian and a nurse , I provide care to my patient that balances the physical, psychological and spiritual aspect of their wellbeing and also ensure that care is given in a way that will not go against my belief. It is vital to state that a patientâ€s spirituality is put into consideration in nursing practice to ensure that the spiritual needs are met. By so doing, an excellent opportunity for the patient and families to connect with God, express their values and beliefs is created.
