Read Chapter 2: Natural and Technological Hazards and Risk Assessment.
In the “Conclusion†to Chapter 2 of the textbook, the authors state, “… a community needs to know and understand their risks if they are to effectively manage them†(p.68).
This is a two-part assignment. For Part 1, describe a natural hazard AND a technological hazard that you face today in your daily life or job. Provide a specific example of each to support your response.
For Part 2, research the Internet and find a graduate-level article or short video (20 minutes or less) that agrees or disagrees with the authorsâ€
statement. Explain your position.
If you use an article for your research piece, provide at least one properly, APA-styled “in text reference citation,†including page number(s), in your response that identifies where you found support for your agreement or disagreement with the authors†statement. You should also include a Reference List with a properly APA-styled source entry.
If you researched a video, the URL web address will suffice as long as you include a short statement as to how the video agrees or disagrees with the authors†statement AND the approximate time it appears in the video.
