Week #10 Discussion Questions
Instructions:

Here is this Week’s Discussion Topic:
In John’s gospel, Jesus uses a great deal of metaphor both to describe himself and his relationship to his Father. Not repeating those comments made by others in the group, focus on one or two of those metaphors or discourses and discuss how Johnson would interpret those metaphors.
In regards to these relationships, discuss your own understanding of the eternal existence of Christ, based on your reading of John’s gospel and the Johnson text. This “Logos” in John’s gospel has made us realize that the Kingdom of God is in our midst, the One who became flesh and dwelt among us has existed eternally with the Father and the Spirit who always was and always will be. Is this something you have ever thought through or pondered? What insights have you gleaned from this week’s reading concerning Jesus’ relationship with his Father and our own understanding/relationship with God?
