The purpose of this assignment is for students to apply the frameworks of religious marketplace theory and new religious movements to analyze specific religious movements within the United States.

This week covers the frameworks of religious marketplace theory and types of new religious movements. Thus this week, we will apply this knowledge to specific new religious movements. Each student is assigned one NRM in the following list according to student last name. Students should conduct online research about their assigned NRM listed below and then respond.
The submission should provide an introduction to the movement, answer what’s the problem/issue addressed by the NRM and what’s the solution that is offered by the NRM. Please do not simply copy material from the Wikipedia page.

For full scoring, students must demonstrate that they have researched the NRM and can adequately apply the theoretical frameworks in the lecture of Module 5.
