This week, the types of modes businesses use to enter foreign markets are examined. All have advantages and disadvantages, including national security concerns, quality and safety, and relationships among governments, which are important factors to consider. For this discussion:
- Choose two ways companies can reach foreign markets (i.e., entry modes).
- What are some benefits and challenges in doing business internationally for those modes selected?
- Are there any occasions in which doing business overseas would be too risky and not recommended?
In addressing the questions, clearly identify the type or size of business that is being considered in each entry mode selected. Determine whether some products or services should be restricted from being traded in foreign markets, and examine other factors not already analyzed (as many as you deem relevant) that would be important for consideration.
