Hi everyone:
For this week’s assignment, I’d like you to interview someone who’s a caregiver and write a paper on your findings, especially in light of the quarantine because of the coronavirus. The paper should be a minimum of 2 pages, and is a synopsis of your interview, NOT a transcript.
To get full credit for this assignment, you’ll need to ask this person the following questions, and describe them in light of the other articles you’re supposed to read this week.
1. Who are you taking care of? (Child, parent/elder) Are they related to you?
2. Are you taking care of them full time or part time? Are you also working on top of this?
3. What kinds of activities are you responsible for doing for this person? How many hours a day do you spend on caregiving?
4. Has the amount of caregiving changed since the shelter-in-place order?
5. What are some of the stresses you’re dealing with while you’re caregiving? Do you feel that you have enough support from the people around you to help you if you feel overwhelmed?
6. What do you do to give yourself a break from the caregiving? If you don’t give yourself a break, why not?
