Google, research and read up on the following topics: The Jefferson Administrations (1800-1808), the Madison Administrations (1808-1816) and the Monroe Administrations (1816-1824). As always, you should be aware of the “who, what, when, where and why) of people and events that took place during this time period (1800-1824). Please take notes on this period and indicate the five Ws noted above. Who was Jefferson, When was he President, What was accomplished during his administrations, Where did events take place, and Why did events occur as they did under TJ’s presidency. By doing this, you will better understand U.S. history and the relevance of events that took place.
Specifically you should also Google and research significant events during the above period. Some important events include: the Revolution of 1800, Marbury v. Madison (1803), the rise of political parties, the Louisiana Purchase, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Embargo, the Policy of Impressment, the War of 1812, the Battle of New Orleans, the Missouri Compromise and the Monroe Doctrine. These were some of the major events that took place during the Jefferson, Madison and Monroe administrations. Who are we talking about, what happened, when, where and why?
