Edward was devastated when Brittany ended their two-year relationship. Desperate for a way to win her back, Edward created a fictitious Facebook account under a different name. Brittany accepted the friend request unaware of Edward’s disguise. Edward sent Brittany approximately 25 messages a day via this Facebook account. He even posted compromising photos and videos of Brittany he had obtained while they were dating. Brittany has contacted the police and would like to press charges for stalking. Can Edward be charged with stalking? Why or why not? Use course material or your state statutes to support your position.
