You may choose a question that could be answered or a hypothesis that could be tested by analyzing relationships among variables given in one or more databases. The variables should measure characteristics of your topic and at least one of the variables should be economics or business related. A relationship among the variables should seem reasonable based on economic theory. In other words, what economic theory that you have learned in your major is most applicable to the topic that you are examining? The main emphasis will be on analyzing and interpreting the statistical results.
Develop a research question – hypothesis must be testable. Provide a motivation – why this research question, the relevance of economic theory in explaining the relationship among variables and the data sources with citations that you plan to use. Be as specific as possible. Start identifying sources of data. About 1 page.
Please make sure that the topic you choose is related to both economics and statistics.
