Strayer University training and development discussion
Business Finance
Needed is a brief response (150-200 words) about these steps for training and development . In Addition a response must be given back to the other students Lacole Smith and Paloma Graham.
Class as we prepare to close out this quarter it’s important to remember that employee development is so important in today’s organization because:
1. Employees have less loyalty to organizations and may be willing to move to another organization if there is no opportunity to advance their careers
2. There is currently a shortage of skilled workers in the labor pool
3. Skilled employees are becoming more and more important in today’s competitive marketplace.
4. To attract and retain high quality employees, organizations must offer quality employee development.
5. Having employees who are able to do more than one job provides flexibility for the organization
6. Employee development leads to potentially lower voluntary turnover and more committed employees
Final Days
Greetings Professor and class,
This semester has been a wonderful eye opening experience for me. I greatly enjoyed and learned a great deal from our homework assignment with our company. This was the most interesting subject to me because I enjoyed finding out about what the company employees would need and then producing a proper and effective training program. Another great takeaway I received from this class would be the different steps in assessing the employees that will be undergoing the training. Training can be ineffective if you are not using the right tools or if the teaching/ lessons are not viable for the current predicament. Overall, training can be such a valuable tool to help keep your employees, save money and be an overall benefit to the company and core morale.
Regards,
Paloma Graham

Hello Class and Professor,
Well we’ve reached the end of the class and I must say I really learned alot not only from the course work but also everyone’s post. This class has left a lasting impression on me and how a company should run a training program from start to finish. I have knowledge of the proper steps and will apply it hopefully when I become a manager in an my own company or a organization I will be working with. It is very important to pay attention if any problems arise early on so that it can be addressed and nipped in the bud. Staff should be included in the feedback on what we should do to make the organization run better as well. Great Class!!
