For this homework assignment, you need to build a dashboard using the Pivot Table option in Microsoft Excel.
Use the file “Pivot Tables Data 1” in the modules.Pivot Table Data 1 (1).xlsx
Your report needs to include:
1- The following four tables
– Shipping fees for different product categories (use “Shipping Fee” and “Category”)
– Shipping fees for different regions (use “Shipping Fee” and “Region”)
– Shipping fees for different customers (use “Shipping Fee” and “Customer Name”)
– Shipping fees over time (use “Shipping Fee” and “Order Date”. Group by months.)
2- A pivot chart for each table
3- A dashboard composed of the four pivot charts and two slicers (one slicer for “Product Name” and one for “State”)

Directions
Table 1: Shipping fees for different product categories (use “Shipping Fee” and “Category”)
- Click on one of the cells of the data / Insert / Pivot Tables (this opens a new excel sheet with a pivot table in it)
- Drag “Categories” from the “PivotTable Fields” (on the right-hand side of the screen) and drop it into the “ROWS”
- Drag “Shipping Fee” from the “PivotTable Fields” and drop it into the “VALUES”
- Click on the value button next to “Row Labels” on the pivot table / Value Filters / Top 10
- Right-click on one of the cells in the “Sum of Shipping Fee” column of the pivot table / Sort / Largest to Smallest
- Select all of the cells on the “Sum of Shipping Fee” column / right click / Format Cells / Currency
- Click on the table / Insert / Pivot Charts / Bar Charts
Table 2: Shipping fees for different regions (use “Shipping Fee” and “Region”)
- Click on one of the cells of the data / Insert / Pivot Tables
- Drag “Regions” from the “PivotTable Fields” and drop it into the “ROWS”
- Drag “Shipping Fee” from the “PivotTable Fields” and drop it into the “VALUES”
- Right-click on one of the cells in the “Sum of Shipping Fee” column of the pivot table / Sort / Largest to Smallest
- Select all of the cells on the “Sum of Shipping Fee” column / right click / Format Cells / Currency
- Click on the table / Insert / Pivot Charts / Bar Charts

- Drag “Order Date” from the “PivotTable Fields” and drop it into the “ROWS”
- Drag “Shipping Fee” from the “PivotTable Fields” and drop it into the “VALUES”
- Right click on one of the cells in the “Row Labels” column / Group / Months
- Select all of the cells on the “Sum of Shipping Fee” column / right click / Format Cells / Currency
- Click on the table / Insert / Pivot Charts / Line chart
Make the Dashboard
- Add a new sheet ( + sign on the bottom of the screen)
- Copy and paste all of the charts in the new sheet
- Click on one of the charts / Insert / Slicers / “Product Name” and “State”
- Right-click on the slicers (one by one) / Report Connections / select all of the tables
