Select one (1) of the two (2) problems from the list below and solve it. After solving, write a one to two (1-2) page paper providing a step-by-step explanation how the problem is solved as if you were explaining it to another person. Your explanation should have the following elements:

1. The total cost, in dollars, of producing x units of a certain product is given by:
C(x) = 8x + 20 + x³/100

- Find the average cost, A(x) = C(x)/x.
- Find C’(x) and A’(x).
- Find the minimum of A(x) and the value xo at which it occurs.
- Find C’(x0).
- Compare A(x0) and C’(x0)
2. If R(x) = 52x – 0.5x2 and C(x) = 22x -1

- Find the total profit, P(x).
- Find the maximum profit and the number of units which will yield this maximum.
- The average profit is given by A(x) = P(x)/x. Find A(x).
- Find the number of items, x, for which the average profit is a maximum.
Write a one to two (1-2) page paper in which you:
- Solve the problem.
- Explain the choice of method for solving the problem.
- Write out the step-by-step solution with an explanation as if you were explaining it to another person.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
- Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
- Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
