Film Analysis Paper
Write a mid-length paper analyzing a film or films from this semester. You may approach this as an analysis of film, using one or more of the films we’ve watched to support your discussion; you may approach this as an analysis of satire in film; or you may approach this as an analysis of satire in general. Your goal is to make an argument about film/satiric film/satire and refer to at least one of the movie’s we watched. You should do some research, looking for scholarly material that relates to film, satire, specific movies, specific directors–whatever pertains to your argument. And you may bring outside movies into the discussion.
The paper is due on April 11; the length should be 1250-1500 words, approximately.
The paper will be graded according to the following criteria:
- Grammar/writing
- Paragraphing
- Argument
- Use of evidence from movies
- Use of scholarly supports
- Depth of understanding of film/satire
