Choose-ONE-artwork-and-study-it-In-terms-of-line-form-composition-coloration-iconography-meaning
You will choose ONE artwork from the list at the end of this syllabus. You must have 2 out of the 3 above references in your bibliography: 1 book, 1 journal article or 1 website. You will write a 1,500-word paper on your image. The order of your paper will consist of the following: 1) Your name and course number; 2) the name or description of the object, artist (if known), medium & date listed at the top as you might find in a museum label; 3) a very brief historical review (no more than a short opening paragraph) that might include its location and circumstances under which it was created, 4) your analysis of the work with supporting scholarly information (this will be the major part of your paper), 5) a copy of the image, 6) your bibliography, and 7) word count. DO NOT USE YOUR TEXTBOOK, WIKIPEDIA OR ANY OTHER ENCYCLOPEDIA. Use the Chicago Manual of Style for your footnotes and bibliography. The format will be: one inch margins all around, double spaced in 12 point Times Roman type.
