1. In his article, The Professional-Client Relationship (pp. 97-104), Michael Bayles states the central issue of professional client relationships. Frist, state this “central issue.†Second, explain the agency model, and why Bayles does not believe this model of professional-client relationships fails.
2. Explain the contract model of professional-client relationships. What objections does Bayles bring to the table in rejecting contract as an adequate model?
3. Explain the friendship model. In what respects is the friendship analogy weak in terms of providing guidance in understanding appropriate professional-client relationships?
4. What is the paternalistic model, and why might a person argue that professionals should relate to their clients as paternalists to subjects? Why does Bayles reject this model?
