1. I have begun looking at the process at each step. Beginning with the audience, then looking at the why the reader would read what I wrote. My skills have improved over the last 5 weeks in academic writing. Finally, how to write a good thesis statement has improved my skill to capture my potential readers.
2. My understanding of how to use the resources to enhance my point of view. Again, the main skill enhanced is to understand how my audience will view my writing. Using the outline to guide my paper has been very helpful. Learning to read my writing more than once has assisted me in improving the writing each time.
3. The largest understanding was the question should be debatable and not just a one-sided question. The addition of discussing the opposing side in your paper is interesting and must be discussed to show you have researched the topic well.
4. My largest fear is how to follow the format and obtain the word count needed to reach. When I try to reach the word count, I seem to discuss the same topics over and over and the flow seems to be circular. However, the editing and revising step in the process has allowed me to see how I can reinforce an area even if it seems to be repeating.
5. This course has challenged me to take the time to research the topic thoroughly. It also has made me review my writing more than one time. These learnings will benefit me in my profession.

- I have learned quite a bit from Composition I to Composition II. I have definitely improved since the first time around. I believe I sound more professional, and my writing is well written. I now have an increased confidence as a writer which has improved my ability to write.
- Research-writing is a little harder than free-writing. Research-writing requires research, practice, knowledge, time, effort, organization, grammar skills, and ideas in order to have good writing. I believe I have achieved all of those over the last few weeks. It was tough finding a good research topic to talk about, but after deciding to talk about “vaccinating your childrenâ€, I was confident that was the one.
- Finding a topic to talk about is one thing, writing about it is another. You have to know what you’re going to write about before you can answer questions about it. Locating, analyzing, and sharing information are key steps in the research process. Writing a research paper gave me the perfect opportunity to write about and learn something that interests me.
- I hope that I’ve included enough information. I tried to talk about several different aspects pertaining to vaccinating your children, but I hope that I’ve included enough to get my point across. Vaccinating is important, even if you don’t agree, and that’s basically what my entire paper was about. I gave insightful knowledge and facts as to why your child should be vaccinated. I believe my paper turned out great, and I’m ready to turn it in.
- Every time I write something, I end up thinking about what I could do to make my writing better. I’m not a reader or a professional writer, but I do like to learn. So, I’m constantly trying to find ways to improve myself as a writer. Reading is a great way to do that. Reading inspires me to be a better writer.
