1)Adolescence is considered a distinct developmental period. During this time, a child can suffer from different behaviors and emotions. One issue that adolescences may face is Depression. Depression is when the child feels alone, singled out, abused, and withdrawn from others. This can also call self-distributing behaviors. Depression can cause adolescence to ack in ways of self-destruction. Often times, the child does not be aware of what they do. They may cause harm to themselves as well as others. Most children experience trauma that can cause them to act in ways that are unclear to others without advice from a psychologist.
CPS (Child Protection Services) often a solution to adolescence and recommending treatment that can be beneficial. CPS agency used decision-making techniques to collect information concerning the adolescence and make a determination based on what is observed. Adolescence behavior strings from social distance and factors of unclear behavior patterns. To overall address the adolescent issues, CPS works along with other professions such as courts, psychologists, and doctors to make a determination that would befit the child’s overall treatment.
Some options that may be recommended are clinical services. That consists of the child talking to psychotherapy and medication. If the adolescent is suffering from harming themself or others, they are often referred to psychology hospitals for further observation.
The setting to address is exporting options on what is causing the depression. Allowing the adolescence to be able to talk about what is going on in their lives. The main focus is to ensure the adolescence can trust you. Gaining trust allows adolescents to talk about what issues they may have and what is causing the behaviors.
Counseling services may be used in most cases. But in most, the need for in-house treatment may be needed for adolescents that are suffering from server depression. I believe that in-house therapy is the best option for adolescence. I believe that in-house treatment is essential for adolescence that seems to pose a threat to others. With the combination of talk therapy and medication, I believe this would be the best option and benefit overall improvement.

(2)Working in child welfare I see to often that substance abuse is a bigger issue then most would like to believe. In my eight years of social service work and five years in child welfare about 30 % of my case load has been around adolescence substance abuse. What is very scary about this is that there are no treatment facilities for them. Its sad because they get a mental diagnosis and counseling however the treatment is so slim to none that its great to tackle the mental health issue but addiction is hard to overcome, imagine a young child. The only options for substance abuse for my young clients are intensive impatient treatment centers. Now these treatment centers only specialized in behavioral health and may talk about substance abuse however the facility is not a substance abuse program. Its a challenge but as a social service provider one may see the need for services but the challenges are finding the right ones, if they even exist. I found out first hand when dealing with a thirteen year old on my case load who had a major substance abuse issue and it broke my heart that there were very little impatient centers for children locally for mental health and hardly none outside of Ga, maybe one. Out of that one, they may talk about substance abuse but it is more mental health and behavior. Professionals believe that once the mental health has been treated, that the substance abuse issue will subside now they are receiving treatment for the metal heath as that was the reason for substance abuse. How many of you beg to differ, because I surly do….
