Stress management is an important skill that counselors need to teach their client. Power Point slide # 8 identifies Theories and Methods Associated with Stress Management. This week, you will each be assigned one theory or method of stress management. Please carefully review the list below:
Now, based on your reading this week and the research you have done on your assigned theory/model, answer the following prompts:
1. Provide a brief summary of your model/theory and discuss how it is pertinent to the counseling field.
2. Identify and briefly discuss two interventions that are used when employing your assigned theory/model.
3. Assume you are working with either an 8-year old OR a 16-year old client who is experiencing high levels of stress. How would you explain to your client why you want to use the model/theory assigned to treat their stress? Write your response as if you were talking to the client (e.g., first person, using quotation marks, using developmentally appropriate language, and so on).
In order to adequately complete this discussion assignment, you must answer all three prompts thoroughly and MUST cite one peer-reviewed journal article when responding to prompt #1.
