An annotated bibliography is a summary (usually about 150 words) of each reference (books, articles, and documents) selected for your term paper. Each source summary is followed by an evaluation (how it applies to your paper topic) sentence or two called the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to evaluate the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources as they relate to your paper. (Olin and Uris Libraries, Cornell University, Ithaca NY 14853) Sources will be less than seven (7) years old. Plan to keep the scope of this paper narrow and select a topic designed to provide new and interesting information to the class. Specifically, do not select material covered in the textbooks.
