In a research paper, all information from outside sources (secondary or primary) must be cited within the text (that is, in-text citations). At minimum, each body paragraph should contain one in-text citation. Place the in-text citation at the end of the sentence in parentheses. Include the author’s last name, the date of publication and the page number. For example: (Smith, 1998, p. 38-42).
All information in the research paper must be found in your three approved scholarly secondary sources. If I cannot find the information in your sources, the information will not considered acceptable.
All sources must be cited in a “References” page, which will be placed at the back of your research paper. Please see the document entitled “References Page” in the folder “Research Paper” in Blackboard. This document contains instructions as well as a sample “References Page.”
