Unit 2 Reflection– Medieval Era
Type and submit a written response to the following question:
Which medieval period with respective works of art do you think is a good representation of the Middle Ages in Western civilization? What artform seems to be the most relevant to your understanding of art and aesthetics today?
Step 1–Research whichever medieval period with respective works of art you believe to be important to Western civilization. Use the following information to research Early Christian, Byzantine, Islam, Early Medieval, Romanesque, or Gothic. Find a specific example in the textbook or web resources to support your answer.
Step 2–Answer the following questions about the medieval period. What makes this period important in terms of art? What specific example of art helps support your answer?
