Option #2: Assessment of an Organizational Leader

For this assignment, you will need to assess a leader that you currently work for/with or have knowledge of. You will write a well-organized 3- to 4-page paper that addresses the following:  

  • Describe the leader in terms of his/her current position and how you know the leader. Note that you should consider using fictitious names of both the individual and the organization.
  • Evaluate the individual’s leadership style.
  • Assess how this style either helps or hinders the leader in terms of leading the organization towards a common vision, effective communication, and recognizing and building talent within the organization.
  • Determine the extent to which you believe the leader is effective in his or her role. Support your decision with evidence from your assigned readings and from two peer-reviewed sources from the CSU-Global Library databases.

For this assignment, you will want to refer to the handout – Writing an Effective Essay. You may also want to view the sample paper, Does your paper look like this? and go to the CSU-Global Library’s APA resources for an APA Template Paper. Be sure your paper follows APA style according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.
