The Blog Assignment for this course consists of two parts. You can use an existing blog from one of your previous courses in this program, or you may start a new blog, whichever is more appropriate. For Part 1, “Expanding Horizons,” you will begin to regularly explore podcasts focusing on global issues in early childhood. Your goal over the next weeks is to grow in your understanding of othersâ€
perspectives on some of the issues and trends explored in this course, thereby expanding your knowledge of global issues in the field and existing strategies designed to impact change. The purpose of Part 2, “Expanding Resources,” is to broaden your knowledge of available resources in the field through studying one early childhood organizationâ€s website and related resources.

Tips for Part 2, Expanding Resources
The main objective for Part 2 of the Blog Assignment is to immerse yourself in one early childhood organizationâ€s website in order to get to know specific ways in which the organization supports the early childhood community and the resources it offers. Before you make your selection, peruse the selection of websites listed in the Resources for Blog Assignment. Some organizations let you subscribe to a free electronic newsletter and you are encouraged to do so. If you choose to study an organization that does not have a newsletter, alternatives are suggested in the resource list. Visit the site of your choice at least once a week to explore different sections. Keep a record of what you have learned through the site to document how your knowledge has grown. Every other week you will be asked to share what you have learned with your colleagues. Although you only need to study one website, feel free to look at as many resources as you like.
By Day 6
Share in your blog an overview of podcasts that were intriguing to you. Also, describe the process of selecting the early childhood organization, and which website you decided to study. Add to this any helpful tips you can share with your colleagues or any questions you want to ask them about these projects.
