I believe that Fortinet’s FortiGate Next Generation firewall is the best for a home network. It is a hardware firewall so it is a physical appliance. Just like it says in the name it is an next generation firewall which tells us that it does a great job doing what other firewalls do but on top of that it does a more thorough inspection on the traffic by not only inspecting the header information but also the actual payload (actual content/transmitted data) which provides the user a higher level of protection. The FortiGate next gen firewall also gives the user the option to set their own internet rules, adjust/carry out security policies and lastly gives the user access to view users and devices real time. Another benefit of this firewall is that it doesn’t take away from your internet speed like some other hardware firewalls are known to do.
