The nurse in charge of disseminating care to this particular family should be in a  position to conduct a full assessment on this family in order to ensure that this particular patient is able to get full  and proper cover. In this particular case, the structural family therapy will greatly help this family to address this issue by fully reaching to the psychological and emotional needs of this family. Due to the fact that Susie allowed her sick mother, Mrs. Jones, to move in, there is the likely hood that there will be the development of problems. These problems are likely to be brought up due to the fact that Susie’s concern on how to balance the demands of her career and her family needs especially in this situation where she has to take full care of her ailing mother.

Thus in this particular case, the structural family therapy would be of great help and this is due to a number of various reasons. To begin with, this theory this theory treats the family as a unit and thus viewing the different problems faced by the family as one single problem. Thus it is true to say that this theory focuses more on the family as a unit rather than focusing on the problems of one single individual. Additionally, this theory focuses more on the day to day family interactions. This theory is governed by three major aspects that are; the family structure, family subsystem, and the boundaries. In this particular case, the family structure will greatly help the family on how the family will deal with this issue. Thus the nurse in charge should try and explain to the family the potential changes that are likely to occur and through this, the family will be able to stabilize while adapting to these changes (Minuchin, 1974).

In addition to this, the subsystem aspect will enable Susie to adapt to her new roles and thus she will be able to adapt quickly. Understanding the subsystems of this family will avoid the overlapping of roles. In order for Mrs.Jones to fully fit in the nurse in charge should try and explain the boundaries and barricades that will come together with the integration of Mrs.Jones in this family. Thus it can be said that this theory will greatly help in observing how the family members interact, alter unnecessary boundaries and lastly to modify the interactions between the different family members.

In addition to the structural family therapy, the family development theory can also help this family to overcome the new challenges that will be associated with the coming of Mrs.Jones. This theory mainly deals with systematic and patterned changes that a family undergoes. The nurse in charge should thus try to incorporate this theory with the aim of trying to identify how the family members interact amongst themselves. These interactions will help the nurse to identify how the various assumed roles by the family members will help in taking care of Mrs. Jones (Bomar, 2004).

Health education particular in this case will greatly help this family to deal with the illness of Mrs. Jones. To begin with, health education is important as it will help the family to appreciate the importance of social, mental and physical wellbeing. In addition to this health education will help to improve the skills and create a positive attitude on the members of this family about health. In addition to this, health education will greatly help in assessing the health requirements of Mrs. Jones and thus enabling the family to offer a more comprehensive health care to her.

Health Care Spending Health care and its associated costs have become the focal point of national debate as lawmakers and 2023

Health Care Spending

Health care and its associated costs have become the focal point of national debate as lawmakers and citizens alike seek ways to guarantee health care services that are safe, effective, and affordable. Consider the following:

Health expenditures in the United States neared $2.6 trillion in 2010, over ten times the $256 billion spent in 1980. Since 2002, employer-sponsored health coverage for family premiums have increased by 97%, placing increasing cost burdens on employers and workers….Total government spending has increased considerably, straining federal and state budgets. In total, health spending accounted for 17.9% of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2010 (Beamesderfer & Ranji, 2012).

There is an ongoing need to strike a balance between the clinical imperatives associated with patient care and the financial realities under which health care organizations operate. As health care is an issue that touches every individual in the country, the levels of health care spending have a direct effect on the well-being of all stakeholders.

In this week, you examine the current financial state of health care in America and how it influences your daily decisions as a nurse manager.

No one is immune to the rising costs of health care. Consider the following news stories:

  • “In 2008, the average premium for a family plan purchased through an employer was $12,680, nearly the annual earnings of a full-time minimum wage job” (Halle & Seshamani, 2009, Introduction, para. 1).
  • “President Obama’s health care law is putting new strains on some of the nation’s most hard-pressed hospitals, by cutting aid they use to pay for emergency care for illegal immigrants, which they have long been required to provide” (Bernstein, 2012, para. 1).
  • “Doctors in America are harboring an embarrassing secret: Many of them are going broke. This quiet reality, which is spreading nationwide, is claiming a wide range of casualties, including family physicians, cardiologists and oncologists…Doctors list shrinking insurance reimbursements, changing regulations, rising business and drug costs among the factors preventing them from keeping their practices afloat” (Kavilanz, 2012, para. 1, 2, 5).

In this Discussion, you examine the overall state of health care costs in America, the different factors impacting the finances of health care organizations, and the effect of rising costs on all stakeholders.

To prepare:

  • Review the Learning Resources on the level of health care spending in the United States.
  • Consider the ramifications of continuing at this level of spending as well as issues involved with reducing spending.
  • Reflect on which stakeholders (payers, providers, and the general population) should be responsible for making decisions on health care spending.

Post a 2 page assessment of the consequences (on payers, providers, and the general population) of continuing current levels of health care spending in the United States as well as the potential consequences of reducing the level of spending. Explain which stakeholders should make health care spending decisions and why.

I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASED IN THIS ARGUMENT BETWEEN 200 300 WORDS Family is very important for many 2023

I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASED IN THIS ARGUMENT..BETWEEN 200-300 WORDS.

Family is very important for many people and it is what gives strength to most of the human beings. As a result, it is important to ensure that the relationships of the families have been maintained. There are roles which are assigned to different members of a family it there is always a change of the roles as time moves by. For example, initially, the parents are expected to take of their children and also they are expected to ensure that the wellbeing of their children have been taken of. They are supposed to feed them, take them to school, ensure that they are healthy and also offer them psychological support. However, with time, the children grow and they become mature and they get families of their own and they get responsibilities and also they have their problems to take care of (Goldenberg, Goldenberg, 2008). The parents also get old and they need help from their children. This is the whole cycle of family.

In this case scenario, the mother is ill and she has no one to take care of her. She therefore needs family love and also affection and she also needs to be taken care of. As a result, the daughter can help but she is also torn between her career responsibilities and family responsibilities since she has three kids to take care of.  The nurse who has been assigned to take care of the mother can offer help. She can be able to encourage the mother emotionally and also to spend time with her. The nurse can also be able to advice Susie on how she can be able to ensure that the health condition of her mother have not deteriorated. The nurse should be very helpful to the family. She should also ensure that both the mother and the daughter are not emotionally depressed because of the pressure they have.

The nurse should also try and try to talk to the ill mother about the change o roles between her and her daughter. This is because the daughter will now have to take care of the mother instead of the mother taking care. The nurse has to ensure that the family understands the various changes of roles as the life goes by and that everyone has to go through cycle (White, Klein, 2008). This should ensure that the mother has no problem with her daughter taking care of her and also taking care of her grandchildren.

The family structural theory tries to identify the strengths of a family system and tries to minimize dysfunctional patterns of interaction. This theory helps to develop the family ties and also ensure that families remain strong. The theory also establishes whether there are various conflicts among the family members and how he various disagreements can be corrected. The nurse can use this theory to find out how the mother feels about the change of the roles and try and use the family strengths to ensure that the mother is okay with the idea of moving in with her daughter (Slee, Campbell, Spears, 2012).  The family developmental theory is very useful in this scenario since it’s able to indicate how the changes in the family life cycle occurs. The theory indicates the reasons why these changes are happening and why the daughter has to take care of her mother.

Health education with come in handy for this family. This is because the mother is ill and she needs health education to ensure that her health condition does not deteriorate. She can be able to know how to take care and live well. The daughter also needs health education on how she can be able to manage and balance work and family and remain healthy. As a result, health education will, therefore, lead to health promotion of this family. The family needs health education to remain in good health.
