Write a reflection of 250-500 words (half to one page double-spaced) on the major paper you just completed. Take a moment to think about the process of writing and research the causal-proposal essay over the last several weeks. You are free to write about any aspect of the project you feel you have something to say about, especially regarding how you may have developed as a writer/researcher through the project. Following are some prompt questions you can write about. They are intended to generate ideas for your reflection; you do not need to answer all the questions. You may focus on a couple of them. Although the reflection is informal, it should be written as a somewhat cohesive and polished paper, not stream-of-consciousness or as a list of answers to the questions.
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of the project? What did you do well? What could you do better?
- If you could do the paper over, what would you change, and why?
- Is there anything that surprised you about the feedback you got from your peers or instructor?
- What do you particularly want readers to notice about the essay? About you as a writer?
- What problems or challenges have you encountered in writing/researching this paper? How did you solve them?
- Did you learn anything new about the writing or research process from doing this paper? Have you grown as a writer or academic?
- Do you think you followed a similar process with your classmates in creating this piece? Did you do anything differently?
