consider the environment water water everywhere 2

  • Q1b. Please follow the instructions as they are given in the project directions. The question says “Convert your answer above to minutes. Round to the whole minute.” How many hours did you obtain in the above question (Q1a)? Please convert them into minutes.

Biogeochemical Cycles
: It seems like you have not made changes in this section. Please consider the following points to revise your work in this section. The project resource titled “Biogeochemical Cycles” will be particularly helpful

  • Water Cycle: You mentioned evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Are these the only stages the water cycle goes through? How do the water cycle stages work together to form a cycle? For example, how does water move from evaporation to condensation? Please revise.
  • Carbon Cycle: How does carbon move from the atmosphere? How do organisms get carbon in their bodies?
  • Nitrogen Cycle: It is true that nitrogen passes through the soil. How is this process carried out?
  • Phosphorus Cycle: You mentioned that phosphorus moves in a cycle through rocks, water, soil, sediments, and organisms. This is a good start. Can you describe how phosphorus circulates in all of these reservoirs?
  • Effects of water bottles: Using examples, explain how the production of water bottles SLOWS, ACCELERATES, OR STOPS the cycle.

Biodiversity: The definition is correct. The directions ask students to explain biodiversity as detailed in the worksheet and other resources. Please detail your description. For example, how does transportation cause deforestation?
Population-growth: Elaborate on your description of the population logistic growth model. Use examples where necessary. How does population growth affect the environment? Are humans K-selectors or R-selectors? What are the factors that raise the human carrying capacity?

Possible interventions: In your report, you only proposed interventions for the effects of water bottle production on the biogeochemical cycles (Water, Carbon, and Phosphorus cycles). The project directions say “Select four different variations from the normal processes identified in parts 1, 2 and 3 above. Offer at least one possible restorative measure for each variation, explaining how each measure could mitigate negative effects on the processes you described.”Please propose variations for all the three sections as mentioned in the project directions.

  • #1 is about the biogeochemical cycle
  • #2 is about biodiversity
  • #3 is about the population growth model
