As per our class lessons before the break, your task is to complete an information article analysis on a topic of your choice.
Be sure you are analyzing for:
Summary
Author’s purpose
Author’s tone (formal, semi-formal, informal)
Bias
Theme/main idea
Effectiveness of writing
Clarity of content and claims
Incorporation of valid evidence (how do you know its reliable? Who is the author? Who is the publisher? When was it published?)
Much like we did in our formative practice of critique writing using the biology article, be sure that your writing is clear and concise, and that you address the criteria mentioned above.
Most of you have provided your topics to me, but if you have not, please do so as soon as possible. You can submit it in our 12A English Team on the Microsoft learning platform, or via email at vhamilon@adnoc.sch.ae
Success Criteria:
Typed MLA format including Works Cited page with clear links to the articles
250-500 word written critique of each article
*Remember, the better the article, the better the information that you will be able to draw on for the purpose of writing your own information text article on your topic of choice!
