2)The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, is so handsome that it’s hard to remember that he is actually a pretty revolutionary leader with a large group of haters. It’s no secret that the French love their short work weeks, long lunch breaks, and incredible benefit packages; the least of which is their pensions. I’ve worked in France for three times in the past two years and he is on every news channel from the fashion programs to the political forums.
Macron comes from the financial world with a very [observable] high EI, especially in motivation and social skills. For three years, he has been trying to streamline the pension system. He wants to make it more congruent to what people earn (like a normal pension) as opposed to the current system which is a free-for-all money bag. So of course, the French are angry and protesting – trying to protect their joie de vie. He has been able to show the financial savings to the country/government and that’s why he is getting things changed. He lets the numbers do the talking.
He believes in close contact. Literally putting leaders in the same room with just a few aides or ministers, to have discussions, instead of big conferences with hundreds of people present. He is known to work long hours and expects his team to do the same.
Like many global leaders, his opposition tries to say he is not as independent and charismatic as he seems. One critic actually wrote an article stating that he has a lack of EI, because they feel he is trying to change the country too much – and want to paint him as weak and “vulnerable.â€
