Use Minitab 17 or any statistical package of your choice to analyze the data and submit a short report. Write the report as if you conducted the entire study and are writing a report of the findings for a client. The report is required to include the following three sections:
1. Executive Summary: A one page non-technical summary of the topic, data collected, and the findings.
2. Aggregate analysis: For the data set as a whole, obtain the frequency tables of all variables and the means and standard deviations of the scale/quantitative variables (such as 7 point scales). Include the output as an appendix. In the body of the paper, briefly summarize (in 1-2 pages) the key findings, such as a brief demographic breakdown of the sample (such as 55% men, 45% women), the attributes that are important, etc.
3. Analysis of Additional Research Questions: In addition to the aggregate analysis, formulate research questions and answer these research questions with the results of the data analysis. Research questions may be of the following types:
· Are two nominal variables related? (For example, is there a relationship between gender and whether a student engages in a given type of exercise activity?) You can use chi-square analysis with cross tabulation to answer such questions.
· Are two quantitative variables related to each other? (For example, is there a relation between how much a student likes to exercise and how much she likes to watch sports on television in her leisure time?) This can be answered by looking at the correlation between the two variables.
· Does the average of a quantitative variable differ among sub-populations? (For example, how does satisfaction with the Syracuse University vary from one home college to another?) You can use the “Display Descriptive Statistic†command with the “By†option to do this test.
· Is the average of a quantitative variable same for two sub-populations? For example, are men and women equally interested in shopping for clothes in their leisure time? This can be answered by using the two sample t-test to compare means.
· Question regarding whether one variable has a higher mean than another. (For example, which activity is a student more interested in engaging in, going to bars, or watching sports on television?) This can be answered by using the paired t-test.
Note: Your analysis should include at least six separate statistical hypothesis tests.
Summarize and clearly interpret your findings in the report.
