The focus this week is on the relationship between society, gender and development. Although women in many societies are responsible for gathering food and caring for the family, which are two tasks crucial to each family, they often have little, if any, access to education or medical care.
Analyze the societal views towards women in the state you chose to focus on for this course. (Thailand). What is state policy toward gender equality? If you want, and information is available, you can also comment on policies regarding policies geared towards the LGBT community.
Instructions: Your initial post should be at least 350 words. Please respond to more than 2 other students. Responses should be a minimum of 150 words and include direct questions, evidence from the literature, alternative points of view or additional insight. For more information, please review the forum discussion rubric attached to the week 1 forum. It is the rubric that will be used for all of the forums in this class.
