This is was the original question Why do you think it is important to understand what a comparison or contrasting essay is? Do you think you will ever need to use one in the future? Why or why not? If so, provide an example of when you would use one?
And these are the student’s commenta for the question and I need to write a replay for each comment

Yes it’s important. comparison or contrasting essay are commonly used on most writing projects except fiction writing. it will be used when someone needs to develop a thesis/ idea/etc of their essay/ paper.
Example:
Compare the differences between Nabokov’s short story writing style with a random Russian writer.

In our career as a student , we all encounter many different kinds of writing assignments, each with its own requirements. once of the most common is the comparison or contrast, in which you focus on the ways in which certain things or ideas, usually two of them are similar to or different from one another. by assigning such essays, your instructors are encouraging you to make connections between texts or ideas, engage in critical thinking, and go beyond more description or summary to generate interesting analysis, when you reflect on similarities and differences, you gain a deeper understanding of the items you are comparing, their relationship to each other, and what is most important about them.
