Los Angeles is known (among other things) for its vast freeway system. Does it work? Is it an answer to yesterday’s problem or a solution we can apply in the future?

What’s stopping us?
How do we get from where we are (philosophically speaking) to where we would like to be?
In other words, how do we make real progress on addressing the transportation challenges we face moving into and through the 21st Century?
