Its a 6 page paper with just analyzing a propaganda poster.
There is an example attached (please read so you can understand what I mean with using terms below)
***the point is to analyze the image based on what you see
***use terms such as deduction, induction, irony, satire, denotative, connotative, syntagmatic level (surface), paradigmatic level (deeper meaning), cultural codes (how cultural bias inform what we see of don’t see)
***what associations are we making and why are we making them (avoid using you or we, instead use “the viewer” or “one”)
***is basically a compare and constrast. you have the image but does it show what really happened??/
Here’s my sample thesis for the image we will use: . “It is clear that by depicting America as a monster through his abundant use of different symbols and iconography, the artist is arguing Americaâ€
s hypocrisy because America takes great pride claiming they will save Germanyâ€s culture when, in fact, Americaâ€s own culture is flawed by their violence. Hence, some of the symbols and icons of this poster, such as implicitly and accurately paints the Americaâ€s hypocrisy.”
***The poster to be analyzed in this essay is called “Liberators” from 1944, I attached a picture but try googling is to see it better.
