1. Descriptive statistics are definitely useful, especially the measures of central tendency. You would be surprised at how many nursing jobs have a statistics requirement listed, and folks have trouble filling those spots!
In nursing, do you think a pie or bar chart that shows the relative frequency of common healthcare acquired infections could be useful?
2. Did you realize that there are lots of studies and trials that you can participate in? Many of these are observational, where only data is collected, no treatment is applied. For example, a great, long standing study is the Nurses’ Health Study which began in the 70’s and is in its third phase now. Wow!
Browse and see if you can find another study that is looking for participants and give a summary and link to it. Or, find a long running study and share a result that has come from it.
