Online Discussion 1: Tuesdays with Morrie (pp. 1-40)
We will use this discussion forum to share our thoughts on the book, Tuesdays with Morrie, which you should have purchased over Spring Break. Please participate thoughtfully in these discussions by respecting the opinions and ideas of your fellow classmates, and also complete the posts by assigned due dates (located at the bottom).

Tuesdays with Morrie (pp. 1-40) Discussion Questions
- How would you describe Albom’s language in this story? How does his choice of language, words, or writing style have an impact on you as the reader? Do you like his writing style? Why or why not?
- Morrie tells Mitch, “…the culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. We’re teaching the wrong things†(35). What do you think about this? Do you think your culture makes you feel good about yourself? American culture? Explain.
- In the eyes of our society, Mitch is successful – he has a good job, he owns a house, he’s married…; however, there is something inside him that makes him feel like he’s NOT successful. When you’re 40 years old, what would your life need to be like to consider yourself to be “successful?â€
