Read the attached article about the (fairly) recently unveiled portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama. The portraits generated real controversy; some people loved them, some disliked the paintings. In your response, briefly summarize the article and the author’s main point. Then discuss some of the criticisms leveled at the portraits. How does the author respond to these criticisms? What is your own view of the portraits? Perhaps you can include some discussion of previous presidential portraits and discuss how the portraits of the Obamas compare with the earlier ones.
