Welcome to Module 3.In this module we will focus on the National Opioid Crisis.Opioid addiction has grown so much it is now considered a national crisis.Many of you may have seen effects of this opioid crisis in your patients, but as this problem continues to grow many of you may see this in your family, friends, coworkers, or even yourself.As people continue to misuse opioids, it can pose as a threat to that person’s health and to others around them.The purpose of this module is to make you aware of this National level threat to health and to help educate others.You will design a presentation and present it to other healthcare professionals.Additionally you will collaborate with these professionals to determine a population in need of pain management education and make a pamphlet to provide this education. Please use the rubric as a guide for your presentations and your reflection paper, as this is how you will be graded.Assignments in this module are associated with course outcomes that are related to critical decision making, leadership, safety, research, evidence based practice, technology, policy, professional values, and nursing role development.
At the end of this module the RN to BSN student will be able to:
