As with week one, the topic for the week 2 discussions comes directly from the weekly readings, which are found in the Course at a Glance, as well as the readings in the modules. You will be reading about various topics related to CIKR: the Patriot Act, the DHS strategic plan, the executive order regarding cybersecurity, national preparedness goals, PPD 8, and so on. Use this week’s discussion to increase your familiarity with these issues . There may be things you disagree with, such as the debate over individual rights vs security which characterizes the Patriot Act. Where should cybersecurity fit within the CIKR sectors and why, or should it not?? What aspects of the goals for national preparedness do you want to see changed or deleted? There is much to argue, much to debate, much to discuss. Keep it objective, professional, informed, and relevant. If you have questions about this week’s discussion you should contact me immediately.
