I always fear someone will not do their part of the assignment and the group as a whole will take a hit. In group assignments everyone will have their own opinions on how they think the project should be done. I call it having too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. In most group projects I’ve been apart of, it start out rocky but it always works itself out in the end. I like my projects done a certain way so I prefer to work alone but I’m also a team player. Back in July, I had to go to a military school in San Antonio for promotion. This course is called Advanced Leaders Course (ALC). In phase 3, I was assigned to a group project with 4 other people. I was the only female and I was basically what you would call the Project Manager. At this school everyone there has the same job in the Army which is Medical Logistics. So as the project manager I had the most slides to do and the format. We had a total of about 42 Slides. To be totally honest, this was one of the best group assignments I’ve ever been apart of. We would meet up after class and go over each section. Everyone would ask for my input on their sections. When it was time to give our brief, we did an excellent job. Our instructors said we did the best. I was nervous about our group briefing last but overall I was glad. Each group presentation had to be about a hour and a half long. We started at 08:00am and finished at about 6:30pm.I think the whole class had a massive headache throughout the entire ordeal. I graduated the class July 10, 2017. I got promoted to Staff Sergeant September 01, 2017. It was all worth it.
