LIT 300 Literacy Theory Final Project II
Humanities
Submit your final project in which you use appropriate terminology and primary and secondary (scholarly) sources to analyze a literary text using two literary theories.
Explain the tenets and basic assumptions of each theory; then posit an argument for each theory’s interpretation of the text. Remember that theoretical analysis is not thematic analysis, so be sure to explore the theory and the text equally rather than demonstrating how particular themes appear in the work. Instead, bring the theory and the text into equal dialogue in your analysis. Finally, summarize and reflect upon your interpretations by exploring what changed in the text and why, and end by evaluating the role of literary theory in literary studies.
For additional details, please refer to the Final Project II Guidelines and Rubric document. They will be attached.
Literary theories to use are structuralism and new historian.
