Environmental, ecological and climate change differs in various parts of the world. Although our lives are exceedingly brief in the context of geologic time, I would like you to consider whether you or your extended family (parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents) have experienced events or changes that might be related to global change. Summarize your story in a few paragraphs, not to exceed two pages. If, on the other hand, you feel that there has been no evidence of global change in the part of the world where you have lived, you can explain this as well.
We are fortunate at Saint Mary’s to have a very international student body, which makes your combined experience very powerful. I will compile the class’ responses and present them in what may be the most memorable day in the course.
Note: This is meant to be your experience, not a research paper on global change in your country. Therefore, you do not need to use references or citations, just your own words or those of your extended family. This should be written informally, from your point of view.
