Need an Article! (Links to an external site.)), view the Evaluating Sources (Links to an external site.) tutorial in the Ashford University Library, and read Developing a Topic (Links to an external site.) in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Part of the preparation work for applying the scientific method is to define the research topic and learn what is already known about it, based on previous research.
Using the topic you selected for the Week 1 discussion, go to the Ashford University Library and find three scholarly/peer-reviewed journal articles about the topic. Download the full-text PDF of each article and save them on your computer.
In this paper, you will describe your research topic, identify the articles you found, and discuss what you think each article says about your topic. Upload the PDFs of the articles with your assignment in Waypoint.
For this assignment,
Describe the chosen research topic.
Identify three scholarly/peer-reviewed journal articles from the Ashford University Library that directly relate to the topic. Read each with the intent of understanding what it reflects about your topic.
Evaluate how each article relates to your topic.
Properly cite all articles within your paper. (For assistance see the Ashford Writing Center’s Citing Within Your Paper (Links to an external site.))

POSTTRAMAUTIC STRESS DISORDER 2
People who have posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) reports a higher level of
dissatisfaction across dynamic life domains such as occupational functioning, social, and
physical health functioning. Previous research evidence asserts that quality of the life of those
suffering from PTSD improves with tandem with the signs enhancement during both
pharmacological and psychological treatment. Nonetheless, a lot of the study is mostly funded on
the quality of life including the mental as well as physical health quality of life evaluated by
measures including short form health survey. Personal wellbeing is popularly referred to as the
subjective dimension of the quality of life.
Besides, physical as well as mental health domain, the view of personal welling relates to
the range of dimension such as perception of an individual standard of living, quality of personal
relationship as well as life achievements. Other determinants includes perceived safety, future
security as well as community engagement.
Additionally, the concept of the personal wellbeing assumes the possibilities that a person
may thrive instead of just lacking disability. More so, there remains absence of the study that has
applied measures touching on a broad range of domains for personal wellbeing in treatment
of the individuals abstaining treatment from PTSD including relationship satisfaction and
perceived safety among other factors (Berle et al. 2018).
Most of the studies that has been investigating changes taking place after PTSD treatment
on life satisfaction as well as personal wellbeing have primarily focused on a particular including
spiritual wellbeing. Understanding the process of PSTD treatment is for instance there is also an
increasing evidence that holds symptomatic improvement increases following the treatment
however it is not clear if this applies to the personal wellness as well (Berle et al. 2018). The

purpose of this investigation was to find out if a 4 week residential group treatment of PTSD is
related to the improvement of personal wellbeing together with the symptoms of PTSD.
The study also holds that the level of wellbeing in people with PTSD is always low and
the treatment should not focus on PTSD symptomatic treatment alone. The focus should be on
their general life and wellbeing. The journal also holds that the future study or research should
focus on most effective means of improving personal wellbeing which might be enhancing
symptoms or emphasizing on the approaches which has a separate focus.
The 21st century started in array of peace and hope. The worldwide prosperity was
believed to start with the new millennium and more so few years ago most people in the world
spoke primarily off peace. However, today majority of world population are in fear and anxiety
about the self as well as the neighbor. Socio political event has displayed a shadow of uneasiness
bout the security affecting people at both societal and personal level. For instance Greg, a
business man in California took a flight and he barely survived in the eventful incident of 9/11.
Later Greg tried to contact his anxious family who were in hock and denial. The event affected
Greg and up today he does not travel frequently. Traumatic incidents are awfully stressful. The
kind of stress that are related to the traumatic incidents precipitates a spectrum of both physio-
pathological as well as psycho emotional outcome. At its highest point the response is diagnosed
