Then, research three or more of the following trends in operations management that you have a personal interest in: quality management, lean manufacturing, green manufacturing, globalization, just-in-time manufacturing (JIT), supply chain management, big data, operational performance metrics, and sustainable operations.
Then, review the Final Project Document and begin thinking about an organization you would like to analyze. The organization can be in any industry that produces a product or provides a service. After doing some preliminary research on your organization, select one of the trends in operations management listed above that your chosen company currently exhibits. Discuss how the organization has implemented this trend, as well as the challenges the trend presents for the company based on the current outlook. This is a preliminary research step for the final project milestone you will submit in Module Two.

- Quality management has been a challenge for many automotive manufacturers; how are they addressing product quality?
- Many companies are facing pressure from consumers and special interest groups to be more “green.” What are companies doing in this area of social responsibility and sustainability?
