PEER 1 DISCUSSION VIDEO SCRIPT
Supervision means to educate, direct, and monitor the work to those they supervise. (Garthwait 2017) Students need supervision to learn and grow. Like many supervision make me very nervous. While I don’t feel nervous in front of clients or families, having a supervisor in front of me or watching my work makes me feel self-conscious. . I feel that I learn best by observing other social workers and then being able to implement the plan myself.In my practicum I am lucky to have a great field instructor with over 21 years of experience. In the areas I would like to be supervised is shadowing the victim advocate in my agency, as well as ethics theories as I feel I can improve. In Garthwait 2017 it describes three types of supervision. Individual supervision with just myself and the supervisor. The second one is the group supervision which is more meetings with the field instructor and other students. The third type of supervision is peer supervision with a group of other social workers who provide guidance and suggestions to each other. (Garthwait 2017)Each one of these provide different things and work best for different people.I prefer peer or group supervision over the individual because I like to hear feedback from my peers. It also takes the pressure somewhat off of myself. The social work practicum text it states that the aspect of supervision is extremely important in human service agencies where stress and burn out can be common risks. While supervision can be nerve racking it is also essential for students to learn from common mistakes.

PEER 2 DISCUSSION VIDEO SCRIPT
“Supervision,†I want to utilize the help in relationships among others intern students in the agency for support in guidance to demonstrate a reflection of the social work service. My interaction with them is helping me identify the social work role that is being presented at my agency. I would appreciate it feedback of the road I present to the agency. I would like to know if I’m asset to service. An area I might overally sensitive to feedback is my planning to meet my practicum hours because I do not want my social worker to hear all my current barriers. I am sure I am not the only one to experience this.
Thou, I do not want to be perceived as the struggling student. All types of supervision and important role in many ways (Garthwait, 2017). I enjoyed the different types of supervision I have experienced, regarding individual supervision I appreciate staffing a case before the session and after the session to help me understand the background of the client and the progress of change from the outcome of the session. For group supervision I look forward to hearing up dates and feedback related to social work and my weekly staff meeting. As for a peer supervision I do not believe I have experienced this area. My agency consist of one social worker at a nonprofit organization office. In this week reading I am learning the meaning of parallel process. Social workers may experience potential directions when dealing with clients and stressful personal situations (Garthwait, 2017). Clients may be angry and threatening, it is important to have a positive parallel process in the helping relationship to help de-escalatemood disturbances. Forexample social workers need to identify barriers client is experiencing and help implement an intervention plan. Clients response to social work is understanding the support provided to help with the problems. I look forward to sharing more of my experience in our weekly videos
