Part 1 – Describe what masculinity is to you. What makes a person masculine? Be sure to include reflection from the chapter. Does your definition include oppositional, compulsive, compensatory, or protest components? Is masculinity innate or constructed or a combination of both? Is masculinity flexible/fluid or is it a set concept?
Part 2 – How has your concept of masculinity changed? Is it the same as when you were a kid? Is it the same as when you were in high school? Did reading the chapter challenge or change your thoughts on this? If it has changed, why did it? If it has not changed, why has it not? This is one of those areas where multiple answers are acceptable if (and only if) you adequately explain and support your answers. Your response must show critical thinking and reflection that includes references to specific passages in the book.
