This area is underlain by limestone which is a soluble rock and dissolves from rain mixing with carbon dioxide forming carbon acid (slightly acidic groundwater). Concentric loops or circles indicate hills. Concentric loops or circles with tick marks indicate depressions. Some of these depressions have ponds in them. The level of the pond is the water table level in that area.
