Assignment: Literature Review
Literature reviews are common beginning steps for conducting research in the field of communications. A literature review is an essay that summarizes existing research or the state of knowledge in a particular area or relative to a particular question or topic. In this case, you will select one of the assigned films (Smoke Signals, Business of Fancy Dancing or Fast Runner) for this lesson and conduct a literature review on it as it pertains to representations of race or ethnicity.

Perform the following steps:
Step 1: Conduct Research.
You will use the Cline Library research resources to identify at least three scholarly articles written about the film and its depiction of African Americans or Native Americans.
Step 2: Write a paper.
For each of the articles you will 1) Identify the article by providing an APA citation for it, 2) Identify the main thesis of each article, 3) Explain the assumptions the authors make, 4) Identify the conclusions the authors draw, and 5) Briefly explore the implications of these conclusions relative to racial and ethnic stereotyping in American cinema.
