Spring Research Paper Over George. 1984
Humanities
Hi, these instructions below is the only thing my professor gave us for constructing this paper. Would prefer the paper to be over 1984 rather Frankenstein.
Looking for someone knowledgeable over 1984 and can construct a fluent paper with a vivid theme applied to workings of the novel.
Spring Research Paper
You will be responsible for writing a research-based essay in which you perform high levels of literary criticism and analysis over Shelley’s Frankenstein or Orwell’s 1984. You are to select a particular theme, social commentary, literary theory (i.e. Foucault’s Panopticon) and apply it to the inner workings of the novel. This means using textual evidence from the novel and outside sources as well as providing your own commentary and analysis on this particular subject. You have the freedom to write about whatever topic you wish, but here are a few suggestions: You could write about how this story conforms or violates conventions of traditional love stories; or about how the government of Oceania functions similarly to our current system of economics, government, or media; or about how the novel acts as a voice advocating hypothetical systems of democratic socialism; or about how the novel fits within the definitions of a Modernist work.
Whatever you choose, there should be significant scholarly research, textual evidence, and analysis to back up your claims. This will involve utilizing the research databases, compiling research, and citing your sources in MLA style as represented in a Works Cited and in-text citations. This paper should be 5 full pages, no more than 7 pages long, not including the Works Cited page (this means the 5th page should have text all the way to the bottom and no essay text on the 8th page; due to time constraints, I will stop reading after page 7).
Your paper should include at least 4-5 cited sources, including the novel. None of your sources should be news articles or encyclopedia entries. All of your sources need to be scholarly (reputable and reliable); this means no Shmoop, Wikipedia, Spark Notes, random blogs, etc. The Works Cited page should appear at the end of your paper on a separate page with the entries in alphabetical order. Remember to follow all of the rules and conventions for MLA formatting. Please ask me questions so that you will not miss points for simple errors.
